Responsibilities

Install HVAC Systems: Efficiently install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in various settings, ensuring all components are correctly configured and operational.

Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently and have a prolonged lifespan. Diagnose and repair issues to restore system functionality.

Troubleshoot and Diagnose: Utilize specialized tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot issues within HVAC systems, ensuring precise and swift problem resolution.

Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere to local, state, and federal safety regulations and codes during all installation, maintenance, and repair activities. Ensure systems are safe and compliant with industry standards.

Provide Customer Service: Engage with customers to understand their needs, explain services, and offer solutions. Advise on system operation, maintenance, and energy efficiency to help optimize HVAC systems.

Maintain Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of all services, including inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations. Document parts replaced and the overall condition of serviced systems.

Stay Updated with Industry Advancements: Continuously update knowledge on the latest HVAC technologies, advancements, and best practices. Attend training sessions and obtain certifications as necessary.

Test and Adjust Systems: Conduct tests and adjustments to ensure HVAC systems operate at peak efficiency. Balance air and water treatment systems as needed.

Provide Technical Support: Offer technical support to customers and fellow technicians. Assist in resolving complex issues and provide guidance on challenging repairs.

Manage Inventory: Oversee the inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Ensure all necessary items are available for prompt and efficient service delivery.

Optimize Energy Efficiency: Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency. Educate customers on energy-saving practices and potential upgrades.

Respond to Emergencies: Be available to respond to emergency repair calls to address urgent HVAC issues and minimize system downtime.

Implement System Upgrades and Retrofitting: Evaluate existing systems and recommend and implement upgrades or retrofits to improve performance and efficiency.

Collaborate with Other Professionals: Work closely with electricians, plumbers, and building contractors to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems within projects.

Follow Environmental Practices: Adhere to environmentally responsible practices by properly handling refrigerants and materials, and promoting eco-friendly solutions to customers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or formal apprenticeship preferred.
- Relevant HVAC certification (e.g., EPA 608 Certification, NATE Certification).
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
